Image link generator

Updated Direct link in one click

Create a link for a picture in one step. ImgDrop hosts the image and generates every format you’re likely to need — so you can paste it into an email, a website, a README or a forum without fiddling with code.

By uploading you agree to the content rules. Every image is safety-checked before it goes live.

How to generate a link to an image

  1. Upload or paste the picture.
  2. Choose an expiry time.
  3. Copy the format you need: direct link, viewer page, HTML, Markdown or BBCode.

Uploading several images

Drop up to 10 images at once. Each gets its own card with links, and a “Copy all” row copies every direct link, Markdown or BBCode snippet in one go — handy for galleries and bug reports.

Safe, temporary and private by default

  • Automated safety review. Every image is checked before it goes live; anything against the content rules never gets a link.
  • Links expire. Choose 1 hour to 30 days. Expired images are deleted from storage, not just hidden.
  • Metadata removed. GPS location, camera serial numbers and editing history are stripped before upload.
  • Unlisted. Viewer pages aren’t indexed by search engines and image IDs can’t be guessed — only people you share the link with can find it.

Frequently asked questions

What does an image link generator do?

It hosts your picture and gives you links to it: a direct image URL, a viewer page, and embed snippets for websites (HTML), docs and GitHub (Markdown) and forums (BBCode).

Which link should I send to a friend?

The viewer page link. It opens a clean page with the image and works in every app. Use the direct link when a site asks for an image URL.

Can I delete an image before it expires?

Yes. Each upload comes with a one-time delete key and delete link. Save it — we only store a hash of the key, so we can’t show it to you again. This browser also remembers your recent uploads so you can delete them from the upload page.

Is ImgDrop free?

Yes. There’s no account, no watermark and no fee. Clearly labeled sponsors keep the service free.
