Content rules & hosting terms
Updated
ImgDrop is a free, temporary image host operated by HYPPE TECH LLC. These rules and hosting terms apply to every upload, in addition to our general Terms of Use. By uploading you confirm that you have the right to share the image and that it follows these rules.
What’s allowed
Screenshots, photos, diagrams, artwork, memes, product images, test images and other everyday content you have the right to share.
What’s not allowed
- Nudity or sexual content of any kind, including drawn, artistic or AI-generated.
- Any content that sexualizes minors. Zero tolerance — see below.
- Graphic violence, gore, animal cruelty, or content promoting self-harm.
- Hate symbols, extremist or terrorist propaganda, and content attacking people for protected characteristics.
- Deceptive content: phishing or fake login and payment pages, impersonation of brands or authorities, fake receipts, invoices, bank statements, chats or other scam material.
- Identity and payment documents — passports, ID cards, driver’s licenses, bank cards, checks — whether real or fake.
- Illegal goods or services, stolen data, and anything illegal where you or your viewers are.
- Private or intimate images of others shared without consent, doxxing, harassment.
- Content that infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark.
- Using ImgDrop as a CDN for malware, spam campaigns or to evade another service’s moderation.
How moderation works
- Before publishing. Each image is reviewed by an automated system (an AI model) before it is stored at a public address. Animated images are checked at several frames; transparent images are checked on light and dark backgrounds.
- Fail closed. If the safety check is unavailable, uploads are refused rather than published unchecked.
- Blocked uploads are not stored. We keep a fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) of the file, an anonymized connection identifier and the review result so the same file is rejected instantly next time. Two blocked uploads within 24 hours pause uploads from that connection for 24 hours.
- Automated review makes mistakes. If a harmless image was blocked, try a different crop or email us. If something harmful got through, please report it.
Reporting an image
Every viewer page has a Report button. After 3 independent reports an image is taken down automatically and its file deleted, pending review. Reports for child safety take the image down immediately. You can also email contact@hyppe.tech with the image link.
Child safety (CSAM) — zero tolerance
We prohibit any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content that sexualizes minors. Uploads flagged for this are blocked and recorded, uploads from that connection are blocked, and apparent CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by U.S. law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), along with the information we hold. If you come across such material anywhere online, report it to NCMEC’s CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678, and do not download or share it.
Copyright: DMCA notices
To request removal of an image that infringes your copyright, email contact@hyppe.tech with the subject “DMCA notice” and include:
- The ImgDrop link(s) (
imgdrop.dev/i/…or the direct image URL). - A description of the copyrighted work and, if possible, where the original appears.
- Your name, address, phone number and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We remove infringing images promptly. If your upload was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with the link, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your contact details, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal courts for your district. Repeat infringers are blocked.
Expiry and deletion
- Every upload expires after the period you choose: 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days. There is no permanent hosting.
- Expired, deleted and removed images are deleted from storage. Links may keep working for up to an hour while CDN and browser caches clear.
- You can delete an upload at any time with its delete key. We store only a hash of the key and can’t recover it.
- We may remove any image at any time, for any reason, without notice.
What we store about uploads
- The image file (after metadata such as EXIF and GPS has been stripped), its size, dimensions and SHA-256 fingerprint.
- The expiry time, view and report counts, and the safety review result.
- A salted one-way hash of your connection’s IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention — not the IP itself. No account, name or email is collected.
- Images are processed by our hosting provider (Vercel) and, for the safety review, sent to an AI provider (Anthropic) that does not use them to train models. Report details you submit are stored to handle the report.
Limits
- JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF only; up to 10 MB and 40 megapixels per image; up to 10 per batch.
- 20 uploads per hour and 100 per day per connection.
- Animated PNG and AVIF aren’t supported; use GIF or WebP.
No warranty
ImgDrop is provided “as is”. Don’t use it as the only copy of anything you care about — links are temporary by design and we don’t back up uploads. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HYPPE TECH LLC is not liable for lost images, broken links or content uploaded by users. You are responsible for what you upload and agree to indemnify us for claims arising from content you upload in violation of these rules.

Frequently asked questions
Why was my image blocked?
Every upload is checked by an automated safety review before it gets a public link. Nudity, sexual content, anything sexualizing minors, gore, hate symbols, scams, fake documents, ID and payment cards, and illegal goods are not allowed. Repeated violations pause uploads from your connection for 24 hours.
How do I report an image?
Use the Report button on the image’s page, or email contact@hyppe.tech with the link. Child-safety reports remove the image immediately.
How do I send a DMCA takedown notice?
Email contact@hyppe.tech with the subject “DMCA notice”, the image link(s), the work being infringed, your contact details, and the good-faith and penalty-of-perjury statements described on this page.
How long do links last?
You choose 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days (the default) or 30 days when you upload. When the time is up the image is deleted automatically and the link stops working. ImgDrop does not offer permanent hosting.
